BIO Kay Hubin

Surrounded by a family of artists and musicians, the perpetual creation of things perceived as yet only within the mind’s eye was a way of life from the start. Artistically inclined, with a passion for fashion, Kay began her career at the age of 18 doing stage clothes for musicians. Designing and producing her own line of “punk-a-billy ”and “new romantic” clothing followed, as well as doing ultra-chic and edgy intricate leather and beaded brocade wearable art for galleries.

When she needed a one-of-a-kind gift for a friend, she decided to take leather and clothing embellishments to make an elaborate cuff. It was a huge hit and resulted in a line of uniquely constructed jewelry incorporating her signature enormous, but virtually weightless, earrings that sold out as soon as they hit the stores.

Kay currently designs a wide range of jewelry and accessories from vintage jeweled magnetic strip make-up compacts to luscious bohemian chic bronze linked belts featuring over 100 individually cast and hand polished pieces for her private clients, a portion of which is now available online.
